VA Referral Process
The first step in the process is to receive a referral from your PCM/PCT. Here are step by step instructions to assist you in expediting the authorization process, which will facilitate better continuity of care towards your improved health and longevity.
Online Request from PCM
- When you log into your My HealtheVet account, select ‘Messages’, and ‘Compose a Message’ to your PCT- Doctor.
- Under ‘Subject*’, select ‘General’ and on the ‘Subject Line’, write “Acupuncture Authorization” and be sure to express how well acupuncture can benefit you and how eager you are to receive treatment at Augusta Acupuncture Clinic.
- Press “send”.
In Person Request with Your PCT
If you have an upcoming appointment with your PCM/PCP/PCT, talk to them about your current condition/health concern that you want to get treated and request a referral to receive acupuncture at Augusta Acupuncture Clinic. After they write it, community care would then approve and send it to us directly. We would then get contacted from us to set up your initial exam with Dr. Sherrell.
Ask your VA doctor to refer you to the Community Care Program for Acupuncture. Tell your PCM that you want to see Dr Eric Sherrell at Augusta Acupuncture Clinic. They will send you straight to us.
